about luke and liam

Luke and Liam were born on May 12th, 2015 at a mere 3 pounds 4 ounces and 3 pounds 1 ounce. They spent 4 weeks in the NICU and just 1 day before coming home, they were both diagnosed with a rare brain malformation called Lissencephaly.

Their parents were determined to make the most of the time they had with their twins and enjoy every second with them.

Liam passed away in his parents arms, with his brother by his side, on January 9th, 2016. Just 3 short weeks later, on February 5th, Luke joined his brother in Heaven.

12 random acts of kindness

We’ve dedicated 5/12 to the boys because Luke and Liam were born May 12, 2015. Each year we honor their lives by spreading joy through random acts of kindness.

You can participate in the event too! Please make sure to wear blue on May 12th to show your support.

Think of anything that would bring joy to someone else’s day and you’ve got it. Your acts of kindness could include smiling at a stranger, writing a thank you note, donating clothing, or buying someone’s coffee. There’s no act of kindness too small – the goal is to get 12 small acts done before May 12th is over. Just remember: 12 acts of kindness on May 12th.

Don’t forget to post your acts on Facebook / Instagram and use the hashtag #ForLandL. We’ll stream posts here on this site so that you can follow along.
